PetMend is comprised of staff and on-call veterinarians, and specialists in cardiology, endoscopy, surgery, ultrasonography and radiology.
The doctors at Petmend have extensive post-doctorate training in modalities such as conventional medicine and surgery, preventative medicine, acupuncture, herbal remedies, homeopathy, Bach flower remedies, glandulars, nutraceuticals, and special hypoallergenic and organic diets.
On-call Veterinarians
Patrick Hopper, D.V.M.
Dr. Hopper graduated from the University of California at Davis and is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine with a specialty in internal medicine. He is an accomplished and talented internist and ultrasonographer, and performs echocardiograms, abdominal ultrasounds, biopsies, and endoscopic examinations.
Jean-Paul Petrie, D.V.M.
Dr. Petrie completed his DVM degree at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Following veterinary school, he completed his internship at Michigan Veterinary Specialists, Southfield, Michigan. Prior to completing his residency he completed a post-doctoral fellowship in cardiac physiology and interventional cardiology at the Robarts Research Institute, University Hospital, London, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Petrie then traveled to New York to complete his residency in veterinary cardiology at The Animal Medical Center in 1996. He was awarded Diplomate status by the American College of Veterinary Medicine in Cardiology in 1999.
Dr. Petrie has a specific interest in echocardiography and feline cardiomyopathies. He continues to lecture both nationally and internationally. Dr. Petrie continues to be actively involved in clinical research projects and has published several articles and book chapters.
